We met through mutual friends on nights out at a local pub. I invited Luke along with his friends to my birthday party and that night he asked to take me on a date. A month later he took me away for a weekend in Brighton, where he asked if I would be his girlfriend.
In August 2017, just over 2 years since we got together Luke got down on one knee in our front room and ask me to marry him. I of course said yes. Little did we know we were pregnant with our little girl. We found out we were having her a couple of weeks later, which made it all feel so much more special.
When looking for a dress I wasn’t sure what style I wanted. I had just had our little girl and didn’t know what would suit my body shape. All I knew was I wanted a Ronald Joyce dress.
After arriving at Ivy Rose in Dove, Kent I went into the dressing room discovered there was a little mix up with the dress I had ordered. However, after seeing the dress, I really loved the look of it and wanted to try it on. After nervously putting it on, I feel completely in love with it!
I did end up trying the originally dress, but it really couldn’t compare. The dress was beautiful, with a full lace bodice which had the option to have it with the sheer bodice, which I chose. With a beautiful full skirt and gorgeous lace detailing around the bottom, and throughout the train. The off-the-shoulder lace gave an elegant feel. Everything complemented my figure and I felt like a real-life princess. I believe that everything happens for a reason and that the dress was meant to be mine. Looking back at photos already I wish I could wear it again and again.
We got married at the Old Kent Barn. The venue and outside was gorgeous and fit the theme of pink and navy perfectly with the floral surrounding areas.
The wedding was perfect from beginning to end. Our favourite moment was when we said I do and signed our papers as Mr and Mrs. It felt so surreal and magical. We were like the prince and princess out of our daughter’s story books. Walking back down the aisle as Mr and Mrs was the best feeling I could imagine.
