Daniel and Rebecca Wright outside

We got married 22nd June 2021 which was in fact our third wedding date due to the Covid Pandemic. It was rearranged from the 9th October 2020 to 12th March 2021 and then finally to this date.

Our venue was the magnificent Hellaby Hall Hotel & Spa in Rotherham which is a stunning 17th Century Manor House with beautiful gardens.

Daniel and I met via mutual friends about 15 years ago, but we were just friends until about 5 years ago when we decided to give a relationship a try. The proposal was on Christmas Day back in 2017. Daniel had a few drinks to steady his nerves. We had both sets of parents round for Christmas Dinner and he was so nervous and a bit tipsy by the time he asked me he asked me to be his wife. Of course, I said yes and at the time I was pregnant with our first child.

We had a wedding theme of navy blue, and I must say that lot of the planning was helped by Hellaby Hall as they have a great selection of wedding packages and brilliant wedding coordinators. Having to move the date three times definitely did make it a little more stressful though. We only went to one wedding fair which was at Hellaby Hall and we knew straight away that was where we wanted to get married, so booked it there and then while we were there.

I knew what sort of dress I wanted and that was a big princess ball gown, but I was unsure on style and colour until I saw the Ronald Joyce Nora, style 69326, gown in a wedding magazine and I instantly knew that was the dress for me. It is a classic romantic wedding dress with tulle, lace and beading. It is an A-line ball gown silhouette with a flattering plunging V-neckline and a nice and not too low cut back. The best part is the 3D floral flower appliques that gather down the bottom of the skirt – it is just so elegant, a real fairy tale dream dress. It truly was everything I could have wished for. The day I got the dress I was horrified it didn’t fit me and it was too small, however in came operation diet… then a year and a gallbladder removal later it finally fit ready for my big day!

The day ran smoothly thanks to my amazing mum and mother-in-law and all the fantastic staff at Hellaby Hall. The best bit about the day was finally getting to say I do. After three date changes and a pandemic it felt like it was never going to happen. It was so lovely to have finally got married and have our closest friends and family present – in the end that’s all that matters.

My top tips for future brides would be to try not to get too stressed, it all works out in the end and just enjoy your day as it goes so fast.
