Tom and I briefly knew each other through high school, and after finishing school we met properly on an evening out with friends, in 2013. We started dating soon as and then in august 2021, Tom proposed whilst we were at a music festival to one of my favourite songs! I don’t think I could have asked for a better proposal and of course I said yes!
The build up to our wedding was really pleasant, and not really that stressful at all. I think it’s because we gave ourselves 18 months between booking our date, to our wedding day! this meant that we really had a lot of time to really think about and plan what we wanted, without stressing about deadlines.
We always knew we wanted a wedding in the UK, and fell in love straight away with Alrewas Hayes, which is situated in Burton-upon-Trent. It’s a lovely country estate and as soon as we saw it, we knew it was the perfect place to get married. We had also decided that was only fitting to get married on our 10th Anniversary.
I found my dream wedding dress at Lula Ann Bridal in Erdington. This was after going to 2 other dress shops where I tried on quite a lot of styles on but none really suited me! I then saw my wedding dress whilst on Instagram and knew it was fate. I found out that Lula Ann was stocking the dress, as soon as I tried it on, I just knew it was the one!
My dress was called Frida, by Ronald Joyce. I loved how different and unique it was compared to a lot of the dresses I had seen before. It was detailed with lots of beautiful pearl beaded and 3D floral on the bodice, which was contrasted with a plain crepe fitted skirt finished with a lovely long train, which glided behind me! I also loved the deep scoop back and small belt detail which really cinched in my waist.
My cathedral length veil 69594 was also a Ronald Joyce. The delicate lace detail on the edge of the veil also matched my dress just perfectly, and was a lovely extra detail to my overall wedding look.
My mum had also decided to wear a Veni Infantino (Ronald Joyces mother of the Bride) dress which complimented mine perfectly and she looked lovely in it!

Our wedding day was just flawless, and I don’t think we could have asked for more. There is absolutely nothing we would change or do any differently! It was drizzling with rain most of the day, but it didn't effect anything at all!
