I live in Montecorvino Rovella, in the province of Salerno, Italy.
In January 2020, I decided to get married to my lovely boyfriend, and we couldnt wait to start the preparations for our big day. In February I go to the first and only atelier, Le spose di giulio gaudiosi in Contursi Terme (sa) to choose my wedding dress.
They were very helpful and suggested that I tried on some different styles to find the right one. I tried on quite a lot of dresses before I found the right one; I loved the idea of having long sleeves on my dresses but then after several tries, I couldn’t find ‘the one’. I then decided to try this mermaid dress called Carlotta from the Ronald Joyce collection and I fell in love. The uniqueness of the dress was breath-taking.
It was like romance meets fashion. The exquisite lace keyhole bodice and matching halter neckline, with a stunning open keyhole back. I loved how different it looked from all the other dresses I had seen.
I decided that although it wasn’t what I had originally envisioned for myself, that Carlotta was going to be my dress.
In March 2020, covid and the lockdown began, our wedding would have been in October, we prayed that the restrictions would be lifted before our wedding date. However, two days before the wedding they blocked everything and enforced the lockdown. We gave up on our dream momentarily and decided that we would have a small ceremony at the municipality in December 2020.
In February 2021 I found out that I was pregnant and so everything was postponed again!
We then decide to get married in May 2023. In March of that year, after 3 years and a baby, I try the dress again with all my fingers crossed and it fits perfectly. I was so surprise and relived at the same time that I could still wear the dress I loved so much.
Then long-awaited day had arrived. The morning of May 21st , I woke up early and couldn’t believe that the day had finally arrived. I have my make up done by the talented Anna Rossomando. My hair was styled by Davide Vasso and Coiffeur Donato and they did a beautiful job.
We decided that we wanted to take some photos at home with our incredible photographer Giuseppe Chianetta and videographer by Nicola Surace.
I arrive at the church with my father and my 20-month-old son Vincenzo to join my husband Antonio, who is waiting for me at the altar. As I was walking down the aisle, I had an indescribable emotion especially because our son was also present at our wedding and was held both my father as we walked down the aisle.
Everything at our wedding was perfect, we exchange our vows, walked hand in hand as husband and wife and threw some rice as a good omen. We then went to our fabulous reception at the hotel Esplanade (Paestum). We had the most beautiful party filled with delicious food and dancing. We also had many stunning photos taken between the temples and the beaches of Paestum. I rally was worth the 3 year wait.
