Plus-Size

You've found your dream partner and now it's time to find your dream wedding dress - and say yes to the dress!

We recognise beauty and brides come in all shapes and sizes (it's why our wedding dresses are available in sizes 6 to 30) so we've created this plus-size blog category to help you find the best wedding dress choices to celebrate your curves.

Accentuating your assets
Every woman, regardless of her shape and size, has assets she can accentuate and one way to do this is by choosing a dress which focuses on what she wants to flaunt. So, if your arms are one of your best features, opt for a strapless or strappy wedding dress which shows them off. If your bust is your best asset, choose a square or sweetheart neckline with plenty of support. Want to flaunt your fuller figure? Our fun and fabulous figure-hugging Didima (style number 69587) dress provides incredible support while accentuating the best of your curves thanks to its fitted bodice and ruffle skirt detail. Other styles that suit plus size brides include A-line gowns like our Duccia dress (style 69588). With a natural waistline, this romantic gown cinches the waist while covering the hips and legs for a flattering fairytale silhouette. If you've always dreamt of a fit and flare but don't think it'll flatter your figure, think again. Our Dusty sparkle tulle fit and flare gown (style 69585) has thick straps and a sheer insert to support a fuller bust while showcasing your curves - and for those brides who want to cover their hips and derriere or have two looks, there's a matching over skirt too called Dottie (style 69586), providing an alternative silhouette.

Flattering features and distracting detail
Similarly, we all have body parts we're not so confident about and would rather hide. By getting creative, we can gloss over or disguise what we don't like just as easily as we can show off our best bits. Take your waist for example, a well-placed waistband, ruched detailing or a brooch can all draw the eye away from your midriff or create flattering features which distract. Not a fan of your arms? Opt for full sleeves, shawls, capes and coats. If you love a dress that is sleeveless or strapless, do not fear, just speak to the boutique you are shopping in - many have expert seamstresses who can help with alterations.

Comfort above all else
More than anything, it's important to be comfortable in your wedding dress. If you're not comfortable and your dress is ill-fitting, you're not going to feel or look confident and enjoy your special day. At Ronald Joyce, we design and manufacture plus-size wedding dresses that hug your figure in the right places while providing both comfort and support. In fact our collection has been especially redesigned in larger sizes for the fuller figure.

So, what are you waiting for? Let's raid the rails at your local bridal stores and celebrate your curves!
